Healing starts with individuals and spreads through organised networks into whole communities. Skills are added and capacity built to develop the process.

This community-focused approach provides the basic building blocks for nation building and economic development. A healthy and stable nation can only be built on a sound foundation of psychologically healthy communities. It is at the level of rural, urban and peri-urban communities that NPAT's interventions are made.

These interventions provide individuals, community groups, NGOs, church groups, government departments and community-based organisations with a therapeutic focus for further collaboration and community building in an ever-widening circle of healing. They lead to community-based 'Network Actions Groups' being established, which in turn draw role players together. NPAT then trains professional and community-based Ecotherapy guides to roll out the healing process in both their own and in other communities.

MISSION

Sowing the healing seed

NPAT’s work involves strategic interventions in communities traumatised by political or criminal violence. NPAT's strong community links, established through the peace structures that facilitated political transition, make it uniquely placed to identify communities at risk and to provide the necessary healing support.
